Mendoza

Hello again, After lots of long bus journeys we spent a very relaxing five days in Mendoza. It is famous for its wine production although me and Billy decided to skip the wine tasting and get at 4 in the morning to trek to the base of Acongagua in the snow. (I know, I know...) However, It...

Argentinian wine and back to the House of Fun

It was another long, long bus ride from BA to Mendoza, where we didn´t really do anything at all to write home about...apart from sample the gorgeous and very cheap Argentinian Malbec and watch loads of extremely crappy films in the hotel. Whilst there Mum Walton was celebrating her 60th...

The wine region...

So, instead of heading downwards and seeing some whales, we decided to head to the wine country and relax for a while. We found a hostel with a yard where we could put up our tent, which we have been dying to try out for a long time. At night it is about 2 degrees minus but our little home (the...

Mountains, cañons, wineries and food...

We arrived in Mendoza after an overnight bus from Cordoba, bus travel here is very comfortable with some busses having fully reclining seats the size of a business class seat in an aeroplane. To our surprise when we arrived at 7:30am it was still dark with the sun not showing itself until 9am....

More randomness...

Some more random observations from South America: - Salt - we will need a detox when we get home - Men like to sing in the street in public and loudly - You never need to order bread, it comes free with every meal (lots of it) - Busses and Trucks are faster than cars, the bigger the bus,...

The Curse of Mendoza...

The f*cking curse of Mendoza begins today... Ok, so the 4.5 litres of not so quality wine didn't help matters but still we were basically the only ones in our hostel! Picture the scene, its a hot day out in beautiful Mendoza. The trees are green, the streets are buzzing with people,...

Mendoza - 4.5 litres of wine, 3 Amigos, one night

So nothing much has really happened since we found out we missed our Buenos Aires - Santiago flight...apart from this little lot! I wake up for the checkout of Tango Hostel at 10, with 2 hours sleep under my belt. Put a call into Mummy, to attempt to sort out this mess with our missed flight....
