Last day in Borneo (we thought :-)

Malaysian Borneo

We flew to Kota Kinabalu (KK) from Jakarta and spent a couple of days exploring the city and just chilling out. On the second night we found a nice hotel with all mod cons which, to be honest, encouraged us to stay longer than we probably should – we even managed to watch some TV! This is the...

Held up in Kota Kinabulu

After the jungle, back to urban life in Kota Kinabulu which is the principle city in Malaysian Borneo. En route, we drove past the famous Mount Kinabulu without actually stopping to make the popular [and slightly expensive] ascent to the summit. Instead, we had a good look as it sat above...

Mamutik Island

(Michael) It's good to be back in touch. I can't think of a better way to get back into the blog than writing about a beautiful island. Mamutik, located in Sabah, is just offshore from the provicial capital, Kota Kinabalu. Sabah has a reputation for beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters and...

End of Borneo

We've finally arrived back to where we started our Borneo trip, in Kota Kinabalu. The last week has been predominatly relaxing and exhilerating. We left Semporna on a small boat headed for the tiny island of Mabul. When we arrived we were slightly disappointed by the facilities! The accomodation...

Borneo

The last few days have been dominated by travelling from Thailand to Kota Kinabalu in Borneo. After spending the last few days of Thailand at the stunning beach of Phra Nang Cave and also re-visiting the night market in Krabi, we packed up our stuff and boarded a mini bus to begin our journey to...

Borneo Baby!!!

I have been in Borneo for 2 weeks now and the time is just flying by!! I met Mike at the airport and was surprised by Abbey and Andy! It was really great to see them all and we found a lovely little bar where we started our New Year celebrations and had a good catch up. After a couple of days in...
