Relax, this is just paradise

Muang Khong, Laos

Shhhhhhhhh, silence please. Take off your shoes, place your ass on that hammock, close your eyes and concentrate on the sound of the Mekong River's flow and the smooth breeze carefully moving the palm trees. Welcome to the 4,000 islands, the one and only Paradise on Earth...
No cars, no electricity, no hurries, no worries whatsoever. If you need to eat, just wake the waiter up (most likely he will be taking a nap in one of the benches) and order your food approx. 1,5 hours before getting hungry, cause that's what it'll take to be served. Rent a bike and cover the length of an island in about 1 hour. Just be careful when crossing the bridges, and try not to look down, cause they're literally falling apart...
Watch the peasants working in the rice fields at 6 a.m. Here the wet season is over and they're already dry, yellow, so different from the Cambodian live green...
Envy the kids and the buffaloes taking a break from the sun on the banks of the river...
Loose your breath contemplating the greatness of the Mekong rapids, and take a splash in the beach just a few meters behind...
Try to fit your backpack in one of the highly stable (please note the irony) wooden boats, and let's go for a ride...

We kindly ask you to leave Western assumptions behind, this is Laos, and we just take it really, really, but really, easy.
