On the way to Interlaken

The Brig Fiasco
The trip started off as a Birthday celebration for Jessica. Being such, we let the girls take the reins on this one. What started off as a 15-18 euro total hostel turned into 25 which finally turned into 35. The train tickets were only roughly confirmed and not followed through on.
Milano
to Brig was 18, Brig to
Interlaken
(half the time) was 30! I realized that there was not much we could really do about this, we were already here, I was bummed because I had spent the time making sure that the
Firenze
trip had gone off without a hitch. Besides, if I was already going to the Alps for an insanely expensive ski trip, I would rather go to
Zermatt
, and ski the infamous Matterhorn.
It is what it is. I know that I slightly overreacted, but I was pissed that no one was really in charge or could give an exact estimate of how much the trip was going to cost. It is very tough to plan a trip with 11 people. Things necessarily have to work differently. Not many places are able to fit 11 people in for dinner, and if they can, tables are usually
Split
, and the check! That’s an adventure on its own!
Chris and I ran to the library to check how much it could be to forfeit our hostel in
Interlaken
and possibly go to
Zermatt
. Unfortunately that didn’t work out. So it goes. How many people can they say that they skied the alps?!?!
Brig was a very quaint town, Disneyland-esque, with cobblestone roads and an amazing view everywhere you looked. But I don’t see how they could possibly cater to tourists when no place takes credit and when their money is way more flamboyant and crazier than the euro.
