Back home

Spaarndam, Netherlands

Hi,

I'm back home after flying thru London Heathrow(read worst airport ever).
I arrived in london in the early morning where it was 2degrees.. standing on my flipflops and wearing a T-shirt..

After a few hours i took my connecting flight to Amsterdam.
At Schiphol airport there was a nice suprise waiting for me:

It was Leon & Yvette with their new born Guus that were waiting for their flight to Curacau.

My dear frien Barry picked me up from the Airport and took me out for some serious lunch at Oudekerk...

Finnaly got home, and went to sleep very early and slept for ever!

Now I'm already back for a week, not used to the cold...
Back to life, back to reality......

Deep in my hart I know I will not stay in Dutchyland forever...
I know that it will be a good thing if I go and live and work abroad..

Different people.. different culture.. different life!

To everybody who want's to make a trip arround the world:
JUST DO IT!!! Ohw and makesure you never have to go back to this life..

Thanks for all the comments made during my trip...

Bye

Final Ozzy destination Sydney and departing to Thailand

Sydney, Australia

Hi,

After a long stay in burleigh head whit Sarah and here Famely we desided to drive to sydney for my final week in ozzyland.
The Firsty day we drove to Port Maquire stayed in a suprisingly nice Mercure Hotel.

The next morning we departed for Sydney. However, it was an national holiday..
Therefore we were stuck in an traffic jam, and the trip costed us 8 hours instead of 4.

We finally arrived in Sydney city center, Saw another Marriot hotel, checked in a nice park few room. That evening we went out to the Sydney Sky tower. It was windy and therefore the Lift's were not working right..
we had to wait for 30 minutes and went up the tower.
We had an Buffet dinner with the best view over Sydney.

The Next morning we checked out of the Marriot hotel, and drove to the Novotel on Darling Harbor. (The Ad said Harbor view) When we got into the room we could indeed see a total of 20meters of water(thats it?). We walked thru town and Sarah got addicted to Sushi&Ice cream.(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

The next morning we checked into the Shangri-la Hotel.
We got the Oprha-house & Sydney harbor bridge view suite.

It costed a little bit of money, however, it was all worth it!
The best view ever.. Made some nice trick pictures at night.
I'll upload them later...
Ofcourse we stayed here for the final three day's..
We walked around and went on a boat ride to Manly Beach and took an train ride to Bondi Beach.

The final day we checked out our beloved hotel...(It was one of the best ones sofar)

Cleaned out my car, and drove to the airport.
First we checked me in, and then we wanted to check Sarah in. However, this was not possible. She had to take an bus to the other side of the airport.(15minutes of motorway)
And check in there, wile we planned on doing breakfast together.
Therefore we were torn apart more early then expected.

However, I've waited 3,5hours on Sydney Airport. took a 9.50hour flight to Bangkok.
Arrived in the middle of the night.. Originally I've had to wait 11 hours for my connecting flight to Koh Samui. However the BKK Airways desk was happy to put me on a 6hours earlier flight. Therefore I've tried to have a sleep on an airport bench.. (did not work)
Now I'm finally in Koh Samui, It's very quiet. Have a nice hotel room very cheap at Lucky Mothers..(Perfect)

I'm going to the beach now and try to get some tan.(It has already faded)

Speak to ya later..

Kris

The time of my life!

Burleigh Heads, Australia

Hi,

Some of you were wondering "where is Kris, is he still alive?"
Yes I have not felt better sinds two years.

Never expected this to happen, all the way on the other side of the world.
Different continent, different culture, different people....

During my second night in Surfers Paradise I met an lady that goes by the name Sarah.
She's trying her best to get the same marine qualifications I have and is also searching for simular job opertunities. Ohw and did i mention she is the most beautiful lady i've ever seen? She's got the looks, brains and personality that every guy would dream about!

I've been here for a week and try to get to know her a little bit better.
And i'm still liking here! (even more)

It's a shame I have to leave this country Oct 11th.
However, we decided that she is comming to Europe in November, just to see how things go in my life. And if all goes well? who knows......

I'll stay around here until the first week of October, then she will travel with me to Sydney so we can discover it togheter... After that she will go back home and I will continue my trip.

Any questions? :-)

Thanks! I know you would understand! ;-)

See ya Kris & Sarah

Surfers Paradise

Surfers Paradise, Australia

Hi there,

Yesterday I drove from Byronbay with James (Canadean guy I met on the "spank me") to Paradise. He is looking for a job and I just want to kick back and relax..
Checked in to the Courtyard Mariot hotel in the centre @ the beach..
34th floor with ocean view, fully equiped and has one of the best showers I've ever had..

Today Leonie and here german friends arived from Brisbane and checked in an hostel.
After that we went for a walk thru the city centre and I bought a wetsuit.

This is much easier then trying to rent one my size every single time when i want to go for a dive or when I go surfing.

Tomorrow I will go for surfing lessons with kevin (german friend).
The waves are perfect for surfing here and they have shark-nets streching the beach as far as you can see. (Surfers are an easy meal for sharks)

I will stay in Surfers Paradise untill friday and then cruise slowly towards the south.

Catch ya later,

Kris

Brisbane

Brisbane, Australia

Hi..

We drove from RainbowBeach towards Brisbane with a stopover in Noosa Heads.

I decided that it was time to get real food without sand between your teeth..
Therefore we went to the Sheraton's resort and orderd Lobster and oysters..

The next day we went to the Australian Zoo
(Home of the crocodile hunter Steve Iwin)

At this moment I'm in Brisbane..
Had an perfect night in the most perfect hotel room..

Just chilled out because I was to tired and have a cold...

Wanted to stay for a few nights, however, the hotel rates are going to be 7 times higher then normal. therefore I'll just cruise arround the city today and then drive towards the coast.

I do have to take things a bit more slow because I have 4 weeks left to travel 1200km.
I'm thinking of going to Surfers Paradise and take an surf course..

Ok..
Catch ya later..

Fraser Island

Fraser Island, Australia

Hi there..

We went to Fraser Island on a 4x4 3day expedition 4 Jeeps with 44 people.
The intention was to sleep in tents,
However, I did not feel like it and therefore I decided to sleep on the roofrack of the car..
To cold therefore I went and sleep inside the car on a bench..
Same happend the next night but I rold over in my sleep and fell down the bench.
This resulting in a very painfull shoulder..

I did not feel anything due to the amount of goon streaming thru my blood.
However the next day I did..

Fraser Island does not have any roads..
It's an Island that consists of 127Km of sand, sand, sand, sand mixed with bush and wild dingo's and snakes.

Because I was the oldest one on my Jeep I was appointed to driver..
There were 3 others that were also aloud but hardly tried.. (due to hangovers)
Therfore I was driving nearly al the time... (*Big Fun)

We saw a shipwreck on the beach and we swimmed in fresh waterlakes..

Also we swimmed thru the most clear water river you have ever seen!

Now we drove to Noosa where we will stay the night.
Most likely Leonie is going to take the bus to pursue her own trip.

I will go to the Australian Zoo, Also known as home of the crocodile hunter (steve irwin)

Ok, this is it for now..

Kris

Airlie Beach, Austria

Hi..

At this moment I'm back in Airlie Beach after a wonderfull sailing trip on the vessel "Spank Me"

The vessel had an total of 24 Pax and 4 crew..
We have been sailing around 3 island of 72... We have been diving snorkeling and ofcourse drinking!

The vessel was a bit back to basic due to it's history as an maxi racing yacht..
Therefore I've decided to check ion the Airlie Beach resort hotel and enjoy the luxury of an nice bath room and double bed!

Tomorrow I will be driving towards Fraser Island..

Was checking the internet for Thailand.. and maybe due to circumstances I will not go there and stay in Australia...
